To: t10@t10.org Subject: SAS PHY call on 10/26 From: Alvin.Cox@seagate.com Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2006 14:34:22 -0500 X-Message-Number: 7348 Formatted message: HTML-formatted message The following proposal will be on the agenda this week. Please review before the call. It has to do with OOB at 1,5 Gbps only for SAS-2. >From a pure specification perspective, SAS phy's that do not support being attached to SATA are not required to recognize an OOB signal burst that consists of a D24.3 pattern at 1,5 Gbps. It would be helpful for all silicon and device suppliers to review their sAS 1.1 OOB detector designs and determine if this proposal will cause any compatibility problems (do existing phy's OOB detectors work with a D24.3 character OOB signal) http://www.t10.org/ftp/t10/document.06/06-463r0.pdf Alvin Cox Seagate Technology, LLC Tel 405-350-7424 Cell 405-206-4809 E-Mail alvin.cox@seagate.com
