It should apply to any event for which the medium fails to
thread/unthread during the process of mounting/de-mounting (i.e., if the
event causes the medium to not thread/unthread, then return this ASC.)
Thanks
Kevin

Subject: A question regarding 05-262
Hi Kevin,
One of our engineers has raised a question about T10/05-262r3 -
SPC-4/SSC-3: ASC/ASCQ for Medium Thread Failure. It turns out that our
technology can fail a thread operation both for a dropped leader and for
various other reasons.
05-262 speaks of dropped leaders and related issues (miss pick, buckle
failure). We're not sure if you intend the new ASC/ASCQ for use only
with these failure modes or for use with any failure that occurs during
a thread operation.
Could you please provide clarification.
Many thanks,
Michael Banther
